Aboriginal Affairs Minister snubs Reconciliation Council

On the weekend of October 27-28, the NSW Reconciliation Council held its Annual General Meeting at Darlington School writes Trevor Davies in the November South Sydney Herald’s Have you heard?

The new Minister Paul Lynch spoke but refused to answer questions and left shortly after the speech. Delegates who were there last year were more impressed by the previous Minister who gave an opening speech, stayed for lunch, spoke to everyone and soon after was faced with very serious charges and is no longer in politics. You would have to ask when this State Government is going to get serious about Aboriginal affairs and appoint a minister who knows something about the portfolio and cares about the issues.
